Trousseau heaven.

It’s been a 2 year love affair with Anita Dongre’s bridal wear, and I’m still repeating the same two words - trousseau heaven.

If you’ve been reading the blog long enough, you would’ve figured this out by now - I’m a huge fan. A kid in a candy store. Which is why you can understand why it’s been a very exciting August for me, to put it mildly - I got a first look at her latest collection at Vogue Wedding Show, and couldn’t wait to visit Mumbai once I had seen pictures of her Lakme Fashion Week show.

Secretly, though, I think the Anita Dongre team loves me. Because, here’s the most exciting news August bought…

Anita Dongre opened up a full-fledged bridal wear store right here in Delhi two weeks ago.

(no, it’s not because Delhi has a huge wedding market, it’s because I love them and they love me right back!)

Of course, I ran to DLF Emporio to have a look. At the launch, I bumped into Anita Dongre herself. I’ve seen her a few times, but never gone up to her to say hello. I finally did, and she was so nice about it! She actually said, “It’s so nice to finally meet you!” Gaaahhh! *faints*

Ok, I’m going to stop gushing over her and her trousseau designing super powers now. Let’s head over to the store!

The store is exquisite. Located on the top floor of DLF Emporio mall in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi - shopping here is an experience in itself. The arches, plush seating and lehengas in all colours of the rainbow will make you want to visit over and over again. There’s a separate bridal dressing area where you can comfortably try on your wedding ensemble and walk straight out to where your family is sitting. Finally, there is some (however limited) privacy for the bridal shopping party. The men have a completely separate area, with Nehru jackets and kurtas available at reasonable prices. The sherwanis and womenswear, of course, are expensive - most lehengas are INR 2 lakh.

I’m still floating in a cloud of love, dreaming about all that Anita Dongre gorgeousness I’ve experienced over the last few weeks. *sigh* Don’t wake me up. Go away now.
