I visited Hauz Khas Village for a meeting today, and of course, once the meeting was over I couldn’t stop myself from taking a look at the latest collection at some of my favourite stores. I would’ve visited many more, but it was raining and there were puddles forming all around at a rather rapid speed. So I just dropped by at three stores in the main lane - the ones I’ve already spoken about on the blog before: Rewaz by Dolly J, Ole Couture & Ogaan.
Rewaz has some pretty lehengas - and I saw a few that were along the same lines as the ones I’d seen at Anita Dongre’s bridal wear store in Phoenix Mills as well as at Sabyasachi’s collection at the Vogue Wedding Show - chikankari work on pastel shade lehengas with tiny sequins sparsely spread over them. Of course, they also had some pretty anarkalis that were almost gowns and some stunning lehengas. Basically, you can buy some trousseau wear from here, if you’re willing to spend over 20-30k on saris and suits. The lehengas were in the 40k+ range.
Ole Couture is still the same - I continue to think it’s kind of overpriced, but it has some great outfits. The second I walked in, there was this stunning dark blue pleated long dress with golden sequins on the upper half. So worthy of being worn to a red carpet event! Price was over 20k. I noticed how a lot of the collection was exactly the same as last year’s - saw the same lehengas and anarkalis. Also spotted a very pretty bright pink lehenga with aari work on it, that I had fallen in love with last year. My own wedding lehenga is very similar - but this one is heavier (in weight) and costs more (2.3 lakh). But a lot of last year’s collection is on sale at the moment - 10% to 25% discount. I found out that the sale is almost over, so if you’re looking to buy from there - go TOMORROW!
Ogaan is also still the same - feels like you walked into Indian wear heaven. Nikasha outfits are absolutely stunning - the gorgeous shades, the flowy anarkalis, the delicate work, I just love it all! Prices are sky-high as well, but that’s not surprising as it’s a designer wear store. If you’re looking for pricey gota patti work suits/anarkalis and saris, they have a really great collection. Saffron is another brand that has pretty gota patti pieces in the store at the moment. Prices range from 50k to 75k, so head in there only if you have deep pockets. Lehengas start at 1 lakh.
