Wedding Wardrobe: Anasuya

I will be the first to admit - I love everything Bombay. And so, it’s no surprise, I love my Bombay Brides (do the names Shonan, Anushka & Masaba Gupta ring a bell?) Since I spent a lot of my early school years in Mumbai, and went back there for college, I have a lot of Bombay people on my Facebook list. One of them is a girl called Anasuya. She was my batchmate in college, and if there’s one thing I remember about her, it was how I perpetually saw her in silver jewellery during those 3 years on campus. Why is this important? You’ll find out soon enough.
Anasuya popped up on my Facebook feed last year. In bridal finery. That I loved. We had a long chat over coffee at a Delhi cafe, where she showed me all her gorgeous wedding photographs while exchanging notes on how Delhi life compares to Mumbai (she’s moved to the Capital to live with her husband, Ashish). I loved so many things about her wedding, and was particularly excited to feature our first Malayali couple on the blog. Continue reading
Wedding Wardrobe: Anushka Hajela
19 AugAnushka was getting married. You know – Anushka! The blogger babe behind BombayBubble? Yes, the fashion blog. Her wedding had me excited even before she had shared a single image from her big day.
Why? Because, silly, when a fashion blogger gets married, music plays on cue and us wedding bloggers are the only ones who can hear it.
Anushka debuted a first peek into her March wedding recently on Instagram, and I almost unhinged my jaw at the sight of her wedding gown.
It was a breath-taking white wedding dress.
But how did a girl from Mumbai end up in a white wedding dress all the way over in the UK? And who made that stunning gown?
I got in touch with Anushka some time back, and she was incredibly generous in sharing every single detail from her wedding. Here is her Wedding Wardrobe story.
Wedding Wardrobe: Sumedha
30 AprOnce in a while, a bride chooses to share her wedding journey with the world. She pens down her experiences, carefully selects precious personal memories to show you – through vivid photographs that captured what was, perhaps, the best day of her life. Continue reading
Wedding Wardrobe: Shubhi
28 NovShubhi had the kind of wedding dreams are made of - a destination wedding in Jaipur!
She got married last December during a two-day wedding affair at Le Meridian and Fairmont, Jaipur. Her courtship period was quite short, which meant limited time to plan the wedding. Her mehendi function was planned to be a small, cosy affair of 50-70 guests. But as it happens so often in Indian weddings, it ended up being a 250-300 people function! Shubhi had not planned for an outfit that would be apt for an occasion of this size, and with limited time on her hands, she couldn’t possibly head out and look for a whole new outfit. So she did what every smart bride does Continue reading
Wedding Wardrobe: Samvedna’s Roka
22 OctI recently came across one of the most unique roka outfits I’ve ever seen on any bride - ever. It was simple, yet absolutely stunning.
Samvedna, who had her roka this May, had 3 weeks to pick an outfit. She came across Monika Nidhii, a designer wear store in Shahpur Jat, where she tried on Continue reading
Wedding Wardrobe: Anuja
9 AugI watched “Connected” recently, a wedding video trailer by the very talented videographers - The Wedding Filmer. Their videos usually take me on a fantasy trip where every scene is filled with love & happiness. This time though, it wasn’t just the love that made me sit up & take notice. What caught my eye was the bride’s beautiful outfits! I only caught a glimpse of them in the video, and I knew I wanted more. So off I went and contacted Anuja, the bride, who was more than happy to share all the details (and photos!) about her wedding wardrobe with us, along with a very important lesson she learnt along the way - “Don’t go shopping with someone who loves you too much!” Wondering what that means? Read on, girls!
Wedding Wardrobe: Sahiba
25 JunI first saw pictures of Sahiba & Jitin’s wedding on Photo Tantra’s Facebook page, and couldn’t help but fall in love with the bride! From her natural looking makeup, to classy jewellery and beautiful wedding outfit - she makes for a perfect inspiration for brides to be. I wanted to feature her on my blog and so I got in touch with Photo Tantra and eventually, the bride herself! Sahiba was really sweet and shared plenty of details about her wedding to help out fellow brides. Have a look!
First up – a breakdown of Sahiba’s wedding outfits! Continue reading
