Vendor Review: The Westin Sohna Resort and Spa

Westin Sohna Resort & Spa

Yet another review by the super helpful, and very pretty bride – Sahiba! All her wedding functions took place at the beautiful Westin Sohna Resort and Spa (Sohna-Gurgaon, not to be confused with the Westin Hotel in Gurgaon). I’ve also been here for a weekend stay with the family last year and I’ll give you my 2 cents on the property at the end of the post. First though, read what the bride had to say, in her review of The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa.

The Property

Westin was great to work with. Extremely flexible and service was exceptional during those 3 days. The property is very lush and green, and it felt like a destination wedding since we were able to have everyone stay in one place.

I absolutely love the place! I wanted to have all my functions outside because you can play a little more with the decor and take advantage of the greenery. It really is a hidden oasis in the middle of chaos!

Food

The staff were very flexible with the menu and literally let me have whatever dish I wanted. Even if it wasn’t on their menu or they had never made it before, the chef would create it for me during the tastings. The food is great – everyone at the wedding was raving about it! As the bride you don’t eat so unfortunately I only have to base it on the tastings which were yummy!

Handling A Crisis – Staff

The staff were extremely responsive. I did run into a MAJOR hiccup the day before the wedding when they told me that the pool wasn’t working or filled. Considering my Mehendi and Sangeet were around the pool area and my decor revolved around it I had a complete mental breakdown! But once I arrived at the resort the next day, they had somehow managed to fill up the pool and the staff greeted my family with flowers and apologized profusely for adding any stress which was very sweet and thoughtful.

Of Suites & Buggy Drivers!

The rooms are also super nice. We rented out the whole property so we could have everyone in one place. The presidential suite is ahhh-mazing! But my parents wanted to be good hosts so we had to give it to the groom’s side which I’m still bitter about! The suite is definitely made for a bride *sighhhh* The management staff are extremely accommodating and service was exceptional! My friends kept telling me how awesome the buggy drivers were after the wedding. Haha!

In previous posts, Sahiba has given us a breakdown of all her wedding outfits, and reviewed her wedding decorator.

Thanks, Sahiba! For your comprehensive review! I’ve also stayed at Westin for a short weekend family trip last year – and those buggy drivers are actually really nice! 🙂 The property is seriously beautiful. And the spa is awesome as well! Last year, on the day we were leaving, a whole family was coming in for a destination wedding of sorts over there. They had just started to decorate the property, and I remember thinking to myself “Wow, imagine booking the whole place and having a wedding over here! Could be fun!” And this year, Sahiba had hers there and I got to share it with all of you! Definitely recommend The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa as a venue for wedding functions.

Have you visited Westin? What did you think of the property?
