Wedding Wardrobe: Samvedna’s Roka

22 Oct

Wedding Wardrobe Samvedna cover Monika Nidhii

I recently came across one of the most unique roka outfits I’ve ever seen on any bride – ever. It was simple, yet absolutely stunning.
Samvedna, who had her roka this May, had 3 weeks to pick an outfit. She came across Monika Nidhii, a designer wear store in Shahpur Jat, where she tried on this floor-length anarkali in a nude shade. While she loved the design, the colour was not suiting her. She thought it looked too dull on her skin. Thankfully, the store had the same outfit in a more vibrant shade that had been made for another client. It had just arrived at the store that same day to be delivered to the client. Samvedna tried the different shade on, and she loved it so much that she got hers made in the exact same colour!

I’m sure you’re dying to have a look at the outfit now!

The floor-length anarkali from Monika Nidhii looks more like a gown (courtesy the almost bare shoulders) – it’s quite Indo-western that way. The gold work across the shoulder is so prettily done, there’s no denying how beautiful her outfit looked.

And the price? INR 20,000! Which I personally think is a great price to spend on your roka outfit. You should leave the big-spending for your wedding day lehenga.

If you’re wondering where she got those gorgeous earrings from, they were bought from Karigari. The gorgeous shots are courtesy Mahima Bhatia Photography (it turns out that Mahima is a junior from my school!) and Samvedna got her hair & makeup done by her friend – MUA Jhalak Parswani.

Here are some more pictures of her roka anarakli –

Isn’t Samvedna’s outfit just perfect for a unique look on your roka?

I really feel this is the best color which can be chosen for roka, because you keep the reds and magentas for later. Amazing outfit!

I wore a very similar floor length anarkali for my Roka in july. This shade of tangerine has really caught up. My wedding trousseau has atleast 2 outfits in this shade. I resist myself to not buy more in this color. I love her outfit , reminds of mine. Wish i could show u the resemblance.
