What Sabyasachi, Anita Dongre and others have lined up for Bridal Wear this upcoming season
With all the major exhibitions and fashion weeks lined up to take place over the next 3 months, and sale season on in full-swing right now, it can only mean one thing – NEW COLLECTIONS are just around the corner! Over the last few weeks, designers have slowly been revealing sneak peeks of what’s coming out of their design houses this year, and based on the pictures – it’s going to be another season of fabulously dressed brides 🙂
If you’re trousseau shopping right now, you have to make a decision – buy outfits that are from the previous season but are on sale, or wait to see what the new collection looks like. Well, your answer lies in here. Have a look at the designs and colour palette coming your way over the next few months.
Fall Winter Wedding 2015 collection
The first word that comes to mind at this sight? Resplendent.
And it looks like red is Sabya’s colour for this season’s bride. The collection will be available in stores starting 11th August, and if you’re a Mumbai bride – take an appointment with Sabya himself between 11-13 August at his Kala Ghoda store if you want to pick your outfits from the new pieces. Delhi brides can view this collection, and make an appointment with Sabya, at Vogue Wedding Show that’s taking place at Taj hotel between 7 to 9 August. All details about the show here.

Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla
New collection for 2015
“Best known for their work in chikankari, zarodozi and the revival of Indian textiles, their labour-intensive garments portray an old world charm” is how Vogue magazine aptly described Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s design house in a recent article. AJSK are opening both Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive and BMW India Bridal Fashion Week this August, and sneak peeks of their new collection have started making their way online. If this image is anything to go by, gold embellishments on deep shades are going to be a part of this season’s weaves. I just hope they keep it simple, because the contrast of gold on a dark shade is usually enough to create something beautiful.

So much prettiness – I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! All the florals and beautiful sorbet shades Anushree Reddy is famous for are a part of this Bridal & Occasion Wear line, and my absolute favourite, if I had to pick one, will be that last green lehenga – it’s basically that floral green dupatta that nails it for me. Of course, that pink floral anarkali is pretty amazing as well. And that mint green lehenga with a pop of yellow is breath-taking too. Argh, I can’t pick!
So, how do you get your hands on one of these beauties? We asked Ensemble, and they gave us the whole scoop: “Anushree Reddy is officially opening this season’s Bridal & Occasion wear line with this Limited Edition collection that will be available only at Ensemble at Lions Gate in Mumbai. It’s an exclusive collection that can be bought at Ensemble 21st July onwards.” There is no indication at this time that this line will be available anywhere else, so make sure you’re at Ensemble on 21st of this month if you want one of these for your wedding functions.
In the mean time, Anushree Reddy’s Facebook page has also revealed a couple of illustrated sneak peeks for their Winter/Festive 2015 collection.

Pinks and greys are going to be dominant colours for Anushree Reddy, which seems to be an interesting combination. Pretty excited to see what she comes up with for this line as well.

Wedding Collection for Autumn Winter 2015
Apricots and peaches, with a burst of orange – the colour palette for this season’s Anita Dongre bridal wear sounds more like a fruit platter than a colour palette 🙂 Jokes aside, gota patti continues to remain her embroidery of choice, and once again – her preview has left us wanting more. Showcasing a glimpse of her new collection at Vogue Bridal Studio earlier this month, Anita Dongre had models walk around in some beautiful pieces. That orange floor length jacket-style anarkali was a definite favourite.

Anju Modi shared a preview at another Vogue Bridal Studio edition in Mumbai a few weeks ago. And I’m excited, because I’ve already found what I’m prematurely labelling my favourite lehenga of the year – that pale blue lehenga! Isn’t it STUNNING?

Autumn/Winter 2015 Haute Couture
Their new collection is called “The Mahal” as their designs are inspired by palaces – the architecture, and the ornate jewellery one would relate to that era. Reds and golds, opulent embroidery and majestic silhouettes will likely be seen in their collection for this season, and considering how endearing S&N outfits generally are on brides, I can’t wait to see the grandeur and glory they will come up with!

Different hues of green, stripes and a nice contrast provided by the usage of black – Priyal is expected to continue providing ethnic wear for those with slightly offbeat tastes and a hunger to experiment with non-cliche designs.
