When you’re the bride, you want the best.

The best wedding venue, the best bridal beauty kit, the best wedding lehenga, and…the best groom! ūüėČ

While we’re always trying to put together the best posts for you (see what I did there?), there are some other experts out there we want to point you to today – Vogue magazine and Ramit Batra (one of the best¬†wedding photographers in India). Both have published¬†exciting posts just this morning, and they’re too good to not share with brides!

Go on, have a look!

What are the best places in India for destination weddings - detailed guide with pros & cons of each city

#1 Guide to the Best Locations in India for a Destination Wedding

Written by a top wedding photographer, this article is a wonderful guide to use if you’ve just started planning your wedding and are¬†looking for a list of destinations in India. It’s not just a list, though. Ramit Batra, the photographer, gives you not only the top 5 destinations but also gives you insight into –

  • His Favourite Resorts (keeping in mind which ones provide the best backdrops & details for spectacular wedding photographs)
  • Logistics & What To Keep In Mind (the good stuff only a wedding planner would otherwise be able to tell you)
  • Best Time Of The Year To Host An Event (detailed weather analysis based on real experiences that you won’t even find on TripAdvisor!)
  • Advantages of hosting a destination wedding in that particular city/resort

What we often don’t realise is how much access a wedding photographer has to what goes on behind-the-scenes at a wedding, and therefore what you would hear from a photographer’s perspective is actually pretty solid wedding planning advice. This post is an absolute must-read, packed with gems of¬†information any bride planning a destination wedding will find helpful. Seriously!
Oh, and just to break the suspense – he lists details about Goa,¬†Mussoorie,¬†Udaipur,¬†Hyderabad & Jaipur as the best wedding destinations. Big fat bonus: the breath-taking photographs of weddings he’s captured at these destinations. One word: WOW.

#2 Expert-Approved Makeup & Skincare Products For Your Bridal Kit

It’s out, you guys! The list of winners of the Vogue Beauty Awards 2015! This is the list I wait for every year. Vogue magazine puts together a panel of experts who spend a lot of time trying out all the¬†beauty products out there, and choose winners in makeup,¬†skincare, hair and fragrance categories after much deliberation. It’s an expert-approved list of the best products out there to buy and put in your bridal beauty kit. What more do you need?!

Makeup Winners List for 2015 – from the best foundation, to the best mascara and blush, this list will tell¬†you what’s the absolute best in every category for your¬†makeup kit. I was surprised to see that L’Oreal has surpassed Maybelline in the best kajal category –¬†is it time for me to leave behind my beloved Maybelline Colossal Kajal? Also surprising was¬†Benefit’s Cha Cha Tint (a lip and cheek stain) made¬†it to the top spot for Best Blush. I own the deeper red shade from this range called Benetint, and I do LOVE it. But I had always read that Cha Cha Tint is too light a shade to show up on most Indian skin tones –¬†has something changed? Or did I always have the wrong information?

Skincare Winners List for 2015 – from the most effective sunscreen, moisturiser and facewash (the Basics) to fancier products such as Serums & Anti-Ageing Creams, this list eliminates the need to go through 50 product reviews before deciding which ones actually work. What surprised me here? Za’s face wash, which I’ve never heard of, won the best facial cleanser award and Clinique’s amazing sunscreens that didn’t win!

You can also check out the whole section on the Vogue Beauty Awards 2015 on the Vogue website.
